See better, move more freely: a health course for more comfortable working days on Ameland
Do you have tired eyes or back and neck discomfort?
This course by the sea gives you practical ways to support your wellbeing. Through vision training, the Alexander Technique and individual coaching, you can learn to ease discomfort, move with greater freedom and build habits that help you through the working day. Whether you want to prevent problems or address symptoms you already experience, the exercises can be adapted to your needs.
Explore practical approaches to common challenges of desk based work.
1. Prevention and recovery
Preventive exercises
- Vision training: Learn simple exercises that give your eyes a break during long days at a screen and help reduce fatigue and dryness.
- Posture and ergonomics: Become more aware of how you sit and move, and make practical adjustments that can ease strain on your back and neck.
- Managing stress: Mindfulness, Brain Gym and coaching techniques support relaxation and concentration, helping you notice and respond to stress before it builds up.
Restorative exercises
- Rest for your eyes: If your eyes already feel dry or tired, explore ways to relax the eye muscles and support comfortable vision.
- Stretching and mobility: Exercises drawn from the Alexander Technique and kinesiology can help release tension and make movement easier.

AMELAND IS
BEAUTIFUL
With its dunes and broad white beaches on one side and the UNESCO listed Wadden Sea on the other, the island has a character all its own.
Walk through the dunes and heathland, explore by bicycle, or pause at a beach café for a coffee or a glass of wine.
Ameland invites you to slow down and recharge. On a North Sea island, earth, fire, water and air feel close at hand.
Inspired by the natural landscape and the island’s villages, galleries, museums, lighthouse and windmills, we combine focused, creative sessions with time outdoors and an introduction to Ameland’s culture.
